I think Oxenfree has some of the best writing and voice acting in a game I've seen in a long while. Visiting the island and going through that ordeal was needed to move on and let go. I think it's easy to turn the game into a metaphor too, the ghosts on the island were Alex's memories of her brother, they haunted her. The way the game discussed death and letting go was also very touching, IMO. It felt like I wasn't just learning lore about the ghost story, I was learning lore about the people around me. I found the radio mechanic pretty interesting and creepy, while the evolution of the characters' relationships was very well done. Either way, I thought this game was great overall. Made it seem like there was some replayability there but I haven't gone back to check. I enjoyed the subtle choices the game made you pick, regarding who you bring with you at what times. Unlike Life Is Strange, the dialog felt much more natural and closer to how actual teens would talk. Personally, as a fan of TellTale games and whatnot, I think Oxenfree has some of the best writing and voice acting in a game I've seen in a long while.
